MILAN – Dejan Stankovic spoke to Mediaset Premium in the run-up to Sunday’s derby between AC Milan and Inter.
"Roberto and Sinisa have known each other for years – a few words back and forth is completely normal," began the Inter first team club manager.
Asked about Icardi starting on the bench, Stankovic replied: "He’ll be ready when needed. He’s a professional and if he’s asked to go on he’ll be ready for it. He’s a young player and he’s vital for us."
The big surprise ahead of the game was seeing Eder’s name in the starting XI: "Big matches are for big players. I remember Sneijder introducing himself to San Siro with a wonderful performance. Eder is a great player and he looks up for it."
Finally, Stankovic was asked whether there would be any more transfer activity from Inter this January: "You have to ask the sporting director about that. Eder is a fantastic signing. Tomorrow’s the last day so we’ll see."
