JUVENTUS V INTER STAT PACK

Check out the key facts and figures ahead of Wednesday night’s Coppa Italia semi-final first leg at Juventus Stadium

MILAN – Inter’s Coppa Italia adventure continues on Wednesday night as Roberto Mancini and his squad head to Turin to take on Juventus in the first leg of the TIM Cup semi-final.

With the 20:45 CET kick-off fast approaching, make sure you’re up to date with all the key stats on the big one at Juventus Stadium:

HEAD TO HEAD

Juventus and Inter have met 29 times in the Coppa Italia. As things stand, the Nerazzurri have won nine, drawn seven and lost 13.

Both Juventus and Inter will be facing the side they have played the most in their respective Coppa Italia histories.

Juventus and Inter have previously met in the Coppa Italia semi-finals in the 1937/38, 1982/83 and 2003/04 editions of the competition. The Bianconeri made it through to the final on all three occasions.

Juventus haven’t beaten Inter in the Coppa Italia since February 1992. The seven meetings since then have produced three Nerazzurri wins and four draws.

Both sides have found the net in the last six Coppa Italia meetings between Juventus and Inter.

A 1-0 Inter win and a 2-1 Juventus win are the most common scorelines when the two sides do battle in the Coppa Italia. Both have come up four times.

PREVIOUS CUP MEETINGS IN TURIN

Juventus have hosted Inter in the Coppa Italia on 12 occasions, with Inter winning four, drawing two and losing six.

Inter are unbeaten in their last three away trips to Juventus in the Coppa Italia. The Nerazzurri have won two and drawn the other one, scoring eight goals along the way.

CUP FORM

Juventus have won six of their last seven Coppa Italia matches. The only defeat was in the 2014/15 semi-final first leg against Fiorentina.

The Bianconeri have conceded just one goal in their last four Coppa Italia matches, scoring ten.

Juventus have reached the Coppa Italia semi-finals for the fourth time in the last five seasons.

Juventus have scored and conceded in 12 of their last 13 Coppa Italia semi-final matches. The only exception to the rule was the 3-0 win over Fiorentina in last year’s competition.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side have won their last 13 matches in Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

Inter haven’t drawn a Coppa Italia match in 14 games. They’ve won nine and lost five of their last 14.

Inter’s recent quarter-final victory over Napoli saw the Nerazzurri return to winning ways away in the Coppa Italia after a run of four consecutive cup defeats on the road.

Wednesday’s trip to Juventus will be the Nerazzurri’s first Coppa Italia semi-final match since the 2012/13 season, when they were knocked out by Roma.

Inter have scored in every one of their seven Coppa Italia semi-final matches.

GENERAL STATS

Neither Juventus nor Inter have conceded a single goal in this year’s Coppa Italia. Both teams scored five goals in the last-16 and quarter-final stages.

No side has managed a shot on target against Juventus in this edition of the Coppa Italia.

Only Napoli made more passes than Inter (1152) in the previous two rounds of the Coppa Italia.

Juventus have tried 31 shots so far in this competition, more than any other side in the last-16 and quarter-final stages.

Roberto Mancini used 20 players in Inter’s first two Coppa Italia matches this season: no side used more in the last-16 and quarter-final stages.

Inter’s five Coppa Italia goals this season have been scored by five different players. Once again, no side had more scorers in the last two rounds of the competition.

PLAYER FOCUS

Mauro Icardi has scored six goals in six league games against Juventus, making the Bianconeri Icardi’s favoured Serie A opponents.

Paulo Dybala has had a hand in half of Juventus’ league goals this season. His 12 goals and seven assists mean he’s contributed to 19 of the Bianconeri’s 38 goals.

Stephan Lichtsteiner scored his first ever Coppa Italia goal in Juventus’ recent quarter-final against Lazio.

If Mario Mandzukic gets his name on the scoresheet against Inter, he’ll became the first Juventus player to score in four different competitions this season.

Hernanes made the move from Inter to Juventus last summer: the Brazilian made just one Coppa Italia appearance for the Nerazzurri, against Napoli in the 2014/15 season.

Simone Zaza – who’s suspended for Wednesday’s game – is the only Juventus player to have scored more than one goal in this year’s Coppa Italia.

Leonardo Bonucci has been on the field longer than any other Juventus player this season, having clocked up 2565 minutes in all competitions.

Stevan Jovetic leads the way for Inter in terms of shots attempted, with 42 in all competitions.

Adem Ljajic has created 42 chances in Serie A and the Coppa Italia this season, at least 19 more than any other Inter player.

Felipe Melo, formerly of Juventus, actually lined up for the Bianconeri in the last Coppa Italia meeting between the two sides back in January 2010.

Davide Santon is the only player in the current Inter squad to have played for the Nerazzurri in that 2-1 defeat of Juventus in January 2010.

Gary Medel has played for more minutes than any other outfield Inter player so far this season with 1654 minutes in all competitions.
