MILAN – Inter booked their place in the Coppa Italia semi-finals with a 2-0 win over Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo on Tuesday night, with Stevan Jovetic and Adem Ljajic bagging the all-important goals.
In collaboration with Opta, check out the key stats behind the clash:
- Inter have reached the Coppa Italia semi-finals for the first time since the 2012/13 season.
- Until Tuesday night, Napoli had won all of their past three Coppa Italia quarter-finals. The Partenopei’s last elimination at the quarter-final stage of the competition was back in 2010/11 against Inter.
- The Nerazzurri win was Napoli’s first home defeat of the season in any competition.
- Inter scored two goals from just three shots on target in Naples.
- It was only the second time Napoli have had under 50% possession this season. The other time was against Fiorentina in the league.
- Stevan Jovetic now has three goals against Napoli and has scored all of them at the Stadio San Paolo.
- It was Adem Ljajic’s second goal against Napoli this season after the Serb also found the net in the league game back in November.
- Dries Mertens has now been sent off on two occasions for Napoli. His first red card was against Sassuolo in February 2015.
