VECCHI: "WE’RE GOING INTO AN IMPORTANT RUN"

"The schedule doesn’t make things easy for us but we have to rise to the situation," the Nerazzurri Primavera coach told Inter Channel

MILAN Stefano Vecchi is bracing his Primavera side for what promises to be a crucial period in their season.

Appearing on Inter Channel’s Inter Young programme, a weekly slot dedicated to the Nerazzurri youth academy, Vecchi spoke to Alberto Santi about the matches awaiting his side and also looked back on the defeat to Chievo Verona last time out.

"It was a step backwards after the defeat of Roma. We wanted to play the game in a certain way but we were unable to implement what we’d worked on," declared Vecchi.

"It was an even game, but the difference was that they took their chances while we were unable to do so in the first half. We always struggle a bit when we go a goal down – the panic takes hold and we lose some precision," continued the Primavera boss.

Next up for Inter is a league trip to Atalanta, before Vecchi takes his side south to Roma for a Coppa Italia semi-final against Lazio: "All of the big games have come clumped together at the start of the year. With the two-legged semi-final to contend with, it’s obviously going to be an important run of fixtures. We’ve not had the best luck and the schedule certainly doesn’t make things easy for us, but we have to rise to the situation."
