MILAN – The schedule for the next Serie A TIM season was established on Friday following a joint meeting of the Lega Council and Assembly.
The season will begin on 21 August 2016 and end on 28 May 2017. The decision on whether to schedule a round of matches for 26 December 2016 has been postponed as the clubs continue to evaluate the proposal. The venue and dates for the next Italian Super Cup will also be decided at a later date.
The Coppa Italia final will be played on either Saturday 21 May 2016 or Sunday 22 May, should one of the two finalists reach the Europa League final, which is scheduled for Thursday 18 May 2016. The Lega Council has approved the proposed national team training camp over 8-10 February, provided players from teams involved in European competitions are exempt from this.
