PALACIO: "I'LL ALWAYS GIVE 100% FOR THIS CLUB"

The thoughts of the Argentine forward fresh off his contract extension: "Important to feel the club and coach believe in me"

MILAN - Following Samir Handanovic, Rodrigo Palacio is the latest Nerazzurri player to extend his contract with the club.

The Argentine forward has been at Inter since July 2012 and is set to enjoy another season with the Nerazzurri: "I'm delighted to have signed a new contract," he told Mediaset in an exclusive interview. "It's massive to spend another year at Inter, one of the biggest clubs in the world. It's crucial to have the backing of the club and coach and I will always give 100% for this club, just as I have thus far in my time here.

"I don't know if I'll finish my career here or in Argentina," added the forward. "I'll assess things when my contract expires. There have been so many rumours flying around as to me returning to my homeland in January. There was no truth in that. I was always clear in what I wanted, to stay here and honour my contract, which now has an additional year to run. I want to produce my best football for Inter."

Finally, El Trenza touched upon Inter's results thus far this term: "At the start of the season I wouldn't have expected us to be top at this stage. However we've seen the team improve game by game. Now we have belief, we're playing well, the group gives everything and we're tough to play against."
