STANKOVIC: "USED TO PLAYING UNDER PRESSURE"

Inter's club manager was speaking from the Stadio Castellani just before kick-off against Empoli

EMPOLI – Nerazzurri club manager Dejan Stankovic found time to say a few words to Italian television channel Mediaset Premium before kick-off in Empoli v Inter in Week 18 of Serie A TIM 2015/16.

"We are used to playing under pressure. You won't reach your targets if you aren't under pressure all the time.

"Empoli are a top side and their coach Marco Giampaolo is doing a fantastic job. I like the way that they play – be it at home or away, against top sides or lesser opposition. Their attitude is always spot-on and they work hard. All the games in Serie A are tough."

The Inter legend doesn't believe the Nerazzurri are nervous about the return to league action: "We knew the games before and after the Christmas break were difficult. Nevertheless, the boys have worked hard and got themselves ready. I hope it's a good game for us."

"Riccardo Saponara could become a problem if we don't close down the space properly and go into the game with the right mentality. He's a key player in their attack, but tactically we've set up well for this contest."

Finally, Stankovic commented on Samir Handanovic's new contract keeping him at the club until 2019. "Samir is a top pro, a wonderful person and a fantastic goalkeeper."
