DOHA - Roberto Mancini believes this evening's friendly against Paris Saint-Germain was a good way for his players to start preparing for their next league encounter after the Christmas break.
"It was our first game after a week off so it was useful to get our fitness levels back up," the coach declared after the match at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha. "Hopefully it's done us some good."
The coach went on to comment on today's opponents and Inter's targets for the second half of the season.
"Paris Saint-Germain are an excellent team even if they were missing lots of players. It was a good game.
"We're working hard to make sure we keep building on the good things we've done so far. We always give everything we have. If we're good enough to stay in the same position we're in now until the last three matches of the season then we'll try to win, but we mustn't forget that our pre-season target was getting back into the Champions League."
