MILAN – Losing to Lazio can serve as a lesson to Inter and help them come back stronger, says Samir Handanovic.
Speaking to Inter Channel after Antonio Candreva's double saw the Biancocelesti emerge from the Meazza as 2-1 victors, the Slovenian shotstopper admitted: "We messed up tonight. We got our approach wrong and we weren't aggressive enough."
It was the Nerazzurri's third defeat of the season and, once again, they proved unable to turn the game around after conceding an early goal.
Handanovic continued: "When you go behind in the opening minutes it's hard to stick to your game plan but we did manage to get back on track. Sadly it went wrong for us at the end.
"This must be a lesson for us. You see how good a team is in difficult times like this, not only when you win."
The keeper also believes the Christmas break will do Inter good.
"The break comes at just the right time. It will help us recharge our batteries so we can start again as we began the season."
