APPIANO GENTILE – This week it was Samir Handanovic's turn to answer questions from fans on Inter Channel's social media platforms in the traditional Thursday evening slot on InterNos.
"We're at the top of the league because everyone is chipping in, from the goalkeeper to the strikers. We look a very compact team from where I'm standing on the goal-line."
One of the questions was on Samir's position, since he started out as an outfield player when he was a child. "My cousin played in goal and that's why I gave it a go. When I was little, I'd always look up to Peter Schmeichel."
The atmosphere of togetherness and unity at Inter right now is reflected in his relationship with the fans. "I'm really happy at Inter, I feel at home. There's a calm atmosphere, the fans are making us feel composed. There's a feeling of respect and we're able to work without distractions.
"It's normal that good results bring a positive attitude. There's a good air about the place, among us players as well. We stayed positive even after Napoli, having played fantastically in the second half."
The Nerazzurri No. 1's performances have inspired the fans, who asked what his best save was and which one meant the most: "Every save is important. If I have to choose my favourite so far, I'd pick the one from Mattia Destro against Bologna in the dying moments of the game."
You can catch the full interview when it goes out as part of the InterNos programme on Inter Channel at 21:00 CET.
