Inter Campus is in Geneva with UNIS and UNOSDP for a two-day discussion on sport and the UN Sustainable Development Goals

GENEVA – Inter Campus in currently in Geneva to take part in the seventh edition of the UN Geneva Seminar Series, which is organised by the United Nations Information Service (UNIS) in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP).

The topic up for discussion over the next two days is the role of sport in global development, with a particular onus on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. These were established on 25 September 2015, when 193 world leaders came together for a General Assembly to approve 17 Goals to help us achieve three fundamental objectives by 2030:

  1. To put an end to extreme poverty;
  2. To fight inequality and injustice;
  3. To find a solution to climate change.

Inter Campus, taking part in the opening discussion, will analyse the link between sport and education, using its own work as a concrete example of how we can intervene on the ground in an effective matter.
