ZANETTI: "TEST OF OUR GROWTH"

The Inter vice president was speaking before kick-off in Inter v Frosinone: "Tonight's game is very important, we want to continue our progress"

MILAN – Javier Zanetti found time to squeeze in an interview before this evening's game against Serie A newcomers Frosinone.

Speaking to the television channel Mediaset Premium, the Nerazzurri vice president declared: "Tonight's match is very important, it's a great opportunity. We want to continue in the same vein, but it won't be easy. It will be a test of the progress we have made. Let's hope it's a great evening.

"We are aware of our strengths, but we need to prove it. As for playing Mauro Icardi up top with Stevan Jovetic, they are both great players and Roberto Mancini pays a lot of attention to who is playing in attack. He's doing everything he can to get the best out of both.

"It's too early to talk about the Scudetto, there are so many matches to play. We are pleased with our position in the league, but we also know that there's much more to do and we can get even better."

The Inter legend wrapped things up with a few words on the team: "The squad is demonstrating that it is capable of achieving our main objective, which is to be among the contenders again. We will evaluate the situation in January to see if we need to bring any new faces in. Nevertheless, we have to keep the FFP in mind and stick to the rules.

"Andrea Pirlo is a fantastic player and would be comfortable in any team, but he doesn't play for Inter."
