INTER BEAT CESENA TO REACH COPPA QUARTER-FINALS

Mari Sanchez, De la Fuente and Correia seal a 3-0 victory in today's last-16 clash, with Roma now waiting in the next round

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI - Inter's Primavera boys racked up a fifth consecutive win with a 3-0 triumph over Cesena in the Coppa Italia last 16 today. Mari Sanchez, De la Fuente and Correia got the goals as Stefano Vecchi's U19s booked their place in the quarter-finals.

After an even opening 20 minutes Inter took the lead when Dimarco whipped a free kick into the box and Mari Sanchez got the vital touch to open his account for the season.

It was almost 2-0 moments later with Dimarco again at the heart of the action. The full-back played in Bonetto, who dinked it over the Cesena keeper only for Rapaic to somehow miss with his header from just yards out.

After the restart Cesena threatened from the odd set piece but the best chances were still falling Inter's way. The Nerazzurri had to wait unti the 86th minute before adding a second but it was well worth the wait as De la Fuente acrobatically turned Bakayoko's cross into the net.

Less than two minutes passed and substitute Correia nodded home from De la Fuente's corner to put the tie well and truly to bed.

Stefano Vecchi's side can now look forward to a quarter-final clash with Alberto De Rossi's Roma, who saw off the challenge of Atalanta today.
