MILAN - F.C. Internazionale are proud to announce the creation of Inter Academy Base Brasil. The new academy project was unveiled today against the wonderful backdrop of Rio de Janeiro’s Estádio do Maracanã. It will be developed thanks to the partnership with World Wide Soccer Academy and their Base Brasil project, which is made up of a network of 27 football schools all over Brazil.
We have launched plans for a very ambitious project, focusing on the development of around 8,000 young players,” explained Barbara Biggi, F.C. Internazionale’s director of partnerships. “Under the tutelage of our coaches from the youth academy, the youngsters will develop as footballers and people. The best players will also have the chance to become a part of our Elite Academy at the National Training Center in Barueri (São Paulo).”
Inter Academy operates all over the world, with five projects which see the club active in Japan, China, the United States, Saudi Arabia and now Brazil. “The aim is to disseminate the Nerazzurri academy’s footballing philosophy by training local coaches who can then in turn develop and improve their young players,” said Marco Monti, the technical director of Inter Academy. What’s unique about the project is that we have one of our coaches in every location to foster the youngsters’ development in their social surroundings and coordinate the training methodology.”
This methodology is based on the experience of F.C. Internazionale’s youth academy, widely considered as one of the world’s best, which boasts a total of 39 national and international trophies. “The history of our club shows how we always focus on developing young players,” stated Nerazzurri vice president Javier Zanetti. “The constant growth of Inter Academy, now running in Brazil too, is a clear example of that. This experience will allow us to share the values and principles which have always defined F.C. Internazionale.”
