BIABIANY: "ALWAYS GIVE MY BEST"

The French winger is enjoying life as a super sub after a year on the sidelines but hopes to push his way into the reckoning for a place in the starting XI

PALERMO – He only came on as a substitute in the 55th minute but within five minutes he had set up Perisic to open the scoring then very nearly snatched a winner himself late on.

It's safe to say that Jonathan Ludovic Biabiany had a good impact on tonight's match at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.

Interviewed after the game, he admitted: "I've had to be very patient over the last few months. I worked hard in the summer to get myself into shape so I can do my bit for the team. I hope to be more and more useful in the league."

The winger knows he doesn't have 90 minutes in him yet though: "I did a few sprints after coming on and I found it hard but my legs were holding out. I played 60 minutes against AC Milan and I think I have about an hour in me at the moment. My aim is to nail down a starting berth but it's the coach who picks the team and I just have to be ready when called upon. I always try to do my best."

The French winger had a chance to score when played in by Ljajic in injury time and it might have been a different story had it not been for Palermo goalkeeper Sorrentino. "We kept knocking on the door right till the end. It's a shame but you just have to hand it to Sorrentino for that late save."
