MURILLO AND GUARIN VISIT COLOMBIA PAVILION

The two Nerazzurri stars headed to Expo Milano 2015 before it draws to a close at the end of the month

RHO – Inter players Jeison Murillo and Fredy Guarin visited the Colombia Pavilion at Expo Milano 2016 yesterday, with the Universal Exposition set to come to an end later this month.

During the visit, Murillo said a few words to the journalists present: "I want to thank the vice president, I’m happy to be here. It’s great to have Expo here in Milan. This is my third visit and each time it’s been incredible."

Asked for his reaction on Inter’s start to the season, Murillo declared: "We’re doing well and are around the top of the table. Against Juventus we put in a good performance and could have won the game."

Murillo is also an important part of the Colombian national team, and given the setting it was little wonder that the conversation soon turned to the country’s current footballing fortunes: "We have a good group. Uruguay deserved to beat us in our last game but we move forward with confidence. We have many talented players and as a country have come a long way in football."

Fredy Guarin also spoke about Colombia’s recent form: "I don’t know if we lacked character against Uruguay, but it’s always a unique match. We knew it was going to be tough but we always show personality in our game. All of us love playing for the national team and when we win we’re all happy. Having such a lot of responsibility is a big source of motivation."

Turning his focus back to Expo, Guarin stated: "This Pavilion represents Colombia. I’m very proud because they’ve done it perfectly. Colombians should show the world they are holding their heads up high and the Colombia Pavilion does that. My favourite part was the description of the climate in Colombia. A message for Colombians at home? Lots of Italians have visited the Pavilion and they were all really impressed by our joy as people and our natural landscapes."
