MILAN – Inter forward Ivan Perisic sympathised with the referee over his penalty shout as he spoke to Inter Channel after the final whistle to share his thoughts on his first Derby d’Italia experience.
"It was tough for the referee. When I kicked the ball I saw some contact with the Juventus player’s hand, but the ref said it wasn’t a penalty so we had to continue playing. It was a difficult game. We performed well in the first half but weren’t so good after the break. We had our chances and they had theirs, so I think a draw is a fair result. Now we focus on our next match," began the Croat.
"I’m in good shape despite playing a lot on international duty. I’ve always said I prefer playing on the wing – especially on the left – but I try to give my best for the team wherever I am on the field," continue Perisic.
Finally, Perisic had a word for the fans who packed out San Siro tonight: "The choreography in the stands was incredible, just like when we played AC Milan."
