MANAJ: "I WAS WRONG AND I'M SORRY"

The Albanian striker has spoken to Inter Channel: "I didn't check the things I was told and I won't make the same mistake again"

APPIANO GENTILE – Rej Manaj has given an interview to Inter Channel in order to clarify yesterday's events.

"First of all, I would like to apologise to Gianni De Biasi, the head coach of the Albania national team. I was told some things and I made a mistake in not checking their source. I am a young and impulsive guy, but I'm smart as well. I reflected on it during the night and realised I was in the wrong.

"I won't make this kind of mistake again, which is down to a lack of experience. I will call Mr De Biasi in a couple of days to speak to him personally. I would like to put this episode behind me as soon as possible because the whole thing was stoked up by the media.

"As for Albania's qualification to the Euros, I am so happy for the guys. The coach and the players deserve it. I hope there will be more satisfaction like this to come because it's time our people had some."

The young Nerazzurri star wrapped things up with a few words on Sunday's match against Juventus. "I'm just thinking about keeping concentrated, regardless of the opposition we face at the weekend."
