MILAN – In a particularly significant year for the city of Milan, AC Milan have decided to dedicate this season’s Luigi Berlusconi Trophy to Expo Milano 2015. The Rossoneri have thus invited Inter to take part in a special Milan derby to celebrate the end of the 2015 Universal Exposition.
It’s sure to be a unique event for fans in Milan and indeed all over the world, who will be able to enjoy a truly international derby thanks to the involvement of Expo 2015.
The friendly match will take place at San Siro on Wednesday 21 October at 18:00 CEST and is sponsored by Emirates, who have been AC Milan’s shirt sponsors for the last five seasons and will mark their 30th anniversary in the week of the match. To celebrate the occasion, Emirates will be responsible for deciding the man of the match award.
The Luigi Berlusconi Trophy, sponsored by Expo and by the City of Milan, was unveiled this morning at the Technogym Lounge on the Universal Exposition site, underlining the links between the match and Expo 2015 itself. In attendance at the presentation were legends Franco Baresi and Francesco Toldo, as well as Expo 2015 S.p.A. Institutional Relations Director Roberto Arditti, AC Milan Commercial Director Jaap Kalma and Inter Chief Revenue Office Michael Gandler.
Tickets for the friendly will be available at a price including both the cost of entry to the stadium and a special offer for Expo.
