DODO: "GIVE EVERYTHING TO HELP INTER"

The Brazilian defender was speaking at a press conference held in Appiano Gentile

APPIANO GENTILE – Nerazzurri full-back Dodo spoke to the gathered media at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti this afternoon: "I want to be available for selection again, let's see where I should play and how I can be useful for the team."

The Brazilian also admitted that "there have been some tough moments. The first month after the injury is the hardest: you can't run and you can't work out in the gym. You have to stay strong mentally."

Dodo is close to full fitness and aims on forcing his way into Roberto Mancini's plans, as well as winning his place back in the Brazil national team. "I heard that there were transfer rumours, but honestly nothing came through and we were only focusing on my recovery. I didn't take any holidays so I could continue my return to fitness. It went really well and my only thought was to return to helping out the team. I'm feeling good at the moment, perhaps even better than when I first came to Inter.

"I'm really motivated and I want to play, my main objective is get back into the team. I hope to earn my spot in the starting XIs for Inter and Brazil. A big squad is definitely a good thing, at some point last year we had so many injuries that I was the only full-back available. If a team wants to win, it needs to have different options."

The defender wrapped things up with a few words on how the season is going and the atmosphere in the dressing room: "Serie A is different this year, we can compete with the top teams and take it right to the end. The coach is a direct and honest man. It's really important throughout the whole season that even those who aren't playing regularly are always prepared to step up to the plate and go out and win games."
