MILAN – F.C. Internazionale announces that it will have two official women’s teams representing the club for the very first time. It comes as a response to the FIGC’s decision in May 2015 to make it compulsory for all Serie A and Serie B teams to have at least 20 registered U12 female players for the 2015/16 season.
Though clubs did not have to implement this until the spring season, Inter has greeted the decision with great enthusiasm and was keen not to waste any time in getting started. In fact, the club’s first-ever women’s teams will be in official action as early as this Saturday, as one side contests its first competitive match in the famous Inter colours.
The Esordienti 2003 team will be in action against Baranzatese at the Camp Sportivo G. Raffin in Baranzate’s Via N. Sauro 150 on Saturday 3 October (kick-off at 14:00 CEST), while the Esordienti 2004/2005 side’s match against Città di Cernusco has been cancelled after the opposition withdrew from the league.
