MILAN – Jonathan Biabiany has spoken of his delight at being involved in a competitive match again after a long spell on the sidelines.
After coming on as a second-half substitute in Inter's 1-0 triumph over Verona at the Stadio Meazza - his first game in a year - the French forward began: "It was important for us to get these three points tonight. Now we have to keep going and try to win each game as it comes."
Commenting then on how it felt to make his return to the pitch, he admitted: "It's been a really tough year for me personally. It felt amazing to get back out there and play again today. It's reward for all the sacrifices I've made. Today is a fantastic day."
Five wins and 15 points is proof that Inter are a growing side: "Today's win is step forward in the work we're putting in week in, week out. We must get better at killing games off without running risks but we're working to correct our mistakes.
"We're a solid, tough side with plenty of room for improvement.
"Win the Scudetto? Inter should always be challenging for the top spots."
