MILAN – Serie A is back and Inter put their first three points on the board courtesy of a 1-0 win over Atalanta, Stevan Jovetic bringing the entire Meazza to its feet with his sumptuously struck injury-time winner.
Here are a few things you may not know about the Nerazzurri's 2015/16 season-opener:
- Jovetic's first-ever Serie A goal also came against Atalanta, when plying his trade for Fiorentina back in April 2009.
- The Montenegro striker has now plundered three goals in six games against La Dea.
- Jovetic opened his Inter account in his first match back in Serie A, having netted in his final league appearance for the Viola against Pescara in May 2013.
- Inter are unbeaten in their last four Serie A opening-day fixtures, winning three and drawing one.
- The Nerazzurri have also kept four clean sheets in their last four Week 1 matches.
- Inter enjoyed 68.4% possession against Atalanta, the highest of all Serie A sides in the first round of games in 2015/16.
- The Nerazzurri and Fiorentina are the only two teams who didn't allow their opponents a single effort on goal in the opening 90 minutes.
- Kondogbia attempted three shots on goal – no other player managed more in Week 1.
