Speaking to reporters after the Nerazzurri's International Champions Cup clash at Longgang Stadium, he began: "I'm pleased with the way we performed today, even if we did end up losing the match. The main thing was seeing improvement. You can't expect to be 100% at this stage of the season.
"We've got two games in the last 48 hours – that's why I changed the team around after 60 minutes. We need it make sure we don't pick up any injuries and we didn't want to run any risks."
It was friend against friend this evening with Mihajlovic in the opposite dugout. "Sinisa and I said hello to each other and chatted for a bit. I think he'll do well there. It looks like his team is taking shape nicely. I think he'll be happy."
Finally, the coach commented on the formation used in the final few minutes. "3-5-2 was an experiment we went with and yes, we might use it again in future."
