SHANGHAI - Mateo Kovacic offered his views on today's opposition Bayern Munich, the Nerazzurri midfield and Inter's forthcoming derby when he was interviewed after this evening's friendly match at Shanghai Stadium.
The 21-year-old began by discussing the Audi Football Summit Shanghai: "It was a tricky test. We did ok in the first half then we got tired and struggled a bit. It was nice to play against a team that goes on the attack though – it was a big test for us."
Mateo then spoke about his 'new' position playing in front of the defence and midfield partners Marcelo Brozovic and Geoffrey Kondogbia. "I came to Inter to play where I'm playing now. The coach has put me back where I've always played.
"I've known Brozovic for ages and Kondogbia is a fantastic player with great power and technique. He'll be a huge help to us."
Finally, the Croatia international looked ahead to Saturday's encounter with AC Milan: "It will be strange playing a derby that's not at San Siro but I'm sure it will be great all the same. There's so much passion for the game here. It's a real pleasure playing matches like this in such magnificent settings."
