RANOCCHIA PLEASED WITH PRE-SEASON PROGRESS

Centre-back enjoying testing his mettle against top-level opposition on tour: "Tough but enjoyable matches, it gives you an idea of how you're coming along"

SHANGHAI - Andrea Ranocchia says Inter can be satisfied with today's showing against Bayern Munich as they head into two more testing friendly encounters against AC Milan and Real Madrid over the coming week.

Speaking after the Nerazzurri's 1-0 defeat to Pep Guardiola's German outfit at Shanghai Stadium, the Italy defender stated: "We played well against one of the best teams on the planet. We're fairly pleased even if we did lose – it's a pity, that. Still we can already see the progress we've made since our first game.

"We have another two matches to go here in China and we'll keep on working hard. We're looking forward to these next two friendlies. They're against more tough opponents but they'll be enjoyable to play in and they give you an idea of how you're coming along."

Ranocchia also expressed his admiration at the backdrop provided by the Chinese fans at a packed Shanghai Stadium: "We didn't expect so many fans today and the stadium looked magnificent," he ended.
