MANCINI: "I SAW SOME GOOD THINGS"

The Nerazzurri boss spoke to the media after his side’s first friendly of the 2015/16 season

RISCONE DI BRUNICO – Inter got off to a winning start in their first friendly match of the 2015/16 season this afternoon, beating Stuttgart Kickers by four goals to three. After the final whistle, Nerazzurri coach Roberto Mancini gave his take on the performance

"It was a match for the fans. Even though they’re against lesser teams, these matches are never easy. I saw some good things today, particularly in the first half, but after the break it wasn’t so good," explained Mancini.

The conversation then turned to potential transfer business: "Ibrahimovic is a great player, but that doesn’t mean he’s coming back to Inter. He’s a PSG player. Santon? This year we have to have a 25-man squad, and it wouldn’t be fair for someone to be left off the list. Kondogbia hasn’t trained much, I put him on for the fans. Montoya has had a bit more time.

"We’ll see how things turn out in the transfer market, there’s still time. Shaqiri is a bit fatigued, unfortunately the 25-man limit will mean some players have to leave. You have to be happy with your destination, it’s always tough to leave Inter and I’m not annoyed with the rejection of three teams.  Can Kovacic play in the Pirlo mould? We’ll see, friendly matches are made for trying out new ideas," declared the Italian coach.
