RISCONE DI BRUNICO – Roberto Mancini’s first-team squad are whirring back into action after the summer break, and it’s a similar story of the Inter youth academy boys. Director Roberto Samaden used his visit to the South Tyrol training camp to speak to Inter Channel about the coming season at the Centro Sportivo Giacinto Facchetti.
"We had a great season last time out because we were more successful in meeting our objectives than ever before: we won silverware with the Primavera and Giovanissimi sides and produced young players for Roberto Mancini. We’re obviously very pleased with the results of our hard work, which will last for years to come," began Samaden.
"In my opinion, we’ve delivered results because we’ve been able to achieve continuity. When we’ve lost players, it’s because they’ve made the step up to the first team. Our first port of call in terms of next season was to confirm the management team for the next two years – the people who coordinate the work of the whole academy, people like Giuliano Rusca, Beppe Giavardi, Daniele Bernazzani, Roberto Niccolai and Gigi Casiraghi. They make the difference.
"All of the coaches will stay the same, except for Paolo Migliavacca, who’ll become the new technical coordinator and director of grassroots scouting. That means that the Primavera will be managed by Stefano Vecchi, the Berretti by Salvatore Cerrone, the Allievi Nazionali by Mario Corti, the Allievi Class of 2000 by Benoit Cauet, the Giovanissimi Nazionali by Stefano Bellinzaghi, the Giovanissimi Class of 2002 by Marco Mandelli and the Giovanissimi C by Marco Sala," declared Samaden.
A big good luck from everyone at Inter to the various youth academy sides for the coming season, then. Newly crowned Italian champions the Giovanissimi Nazionali will be at Expo 2015 tomorrow, showing off their silverware in a very special setting: "We’re very happy to be able to visit a new place and celebrate this important title in the Indonesia Pavilion. We’d like to thank the president for this opportunity," said Samaden.
