LJUBLJANA – Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic had plenty to do on international duty this evening as his Slovenia side slipped to a 2-3 defeat to England in a thrilling encounter at Ljubljana’s Stožice Stadium.
The Group E EURO 2016 qualification match saw the hosts take the lead through Novakovic in the 37th minute, but Jack Wilshere hauled the Three Lions back into it with a stunning second-half brace (57, 73). Pecnik levelled for Slovenia with five minutes remaining, but Rooney sealed a 2-3 win for England on 86 minutes.
Handanovic played the whole 90 minutes.
