CAUET: "WE'RE ON THE RIGHT TRACK"

The Allievi coach chats to Inter Channel after the first two Final Eight matches, which leave his side needing a point against Roma to make the semis

CHIANCIANO – Inter U17s have made an unbeaten start to the group stage of the Allievi Nazionali Serie A and B championship Final Eight, thanks to a 0-0 draw with Palermo and a 3-1 triumph over Fiorentina. They're not sure of their place in the semi-finals yet though – they need another point from their final group-stage encounter against Roma tomorrow.

Speaking to Inter Channel after yesterday's success against Fiorentina, Allievi coach Benoit Cauet reflected on his team's first two games and weighed up their chances of progressing to the last four.

"The first match was very unusual. Palermo played a really defensive game and we weren't sharp enough in the final third," he began.

"Then the lads produced a superb all-round showing against Fiorentina. They responded magnificently after going behind to a goal on the break. We're certainly on the right track and we have to keep on like this."

On tomorrow's meeting with the Giallorossi: "We still need one more point to be sure of qualifying. We'll have to work for it but we want to try and win the game and finish top. I expect it to be a very tough match against a big team. We must make sure we're ready for it so that we can get the three points."
