INTER NIGHT, A NERAZZURRI EVENING

Season-ticket holders for next year were given exclusive access to the unveiling of the Home Kit for the 2015/16 season

MILAN – A magical evening and a shirt that pays tribute to our traditions. The classic broad black and blue stripes have returned. Yet in reality the whole evening was all about you – the fans. Season-ticket holders were given exclusive access to the big unveiling, with live music and a DJ set whipping up the atmosphere beforehand.

In attendance were the first-team squad, coach Roberto Mancini, CEO Michael Bolingbroke, vice president Javier Zanetti, marketing director Claire Lewis and, of course, the Nerazzurri side that won the 1990/91 UEFA Cup, who were lauded by the fans. It truly was a celebration of all things Nerazzurri.

"Over the years I’ve learnt that a football club is nothing without its fans. We're working hard to ensure that Roberto Mancini can guide the club to the results it deserves," began Michael Bolingbroke, speaking in Italian.

Next to take the microphone was vice president Javier Zanetti: "I wear a tie now instead of a shirt, but it's still Inter. That's the most important thing."

Inter boss Roberto Mancini then said a few words, to warm applause from the stands: "The club will do everything so that you enjoy yourselves. With a full stadium we can do much better."

Marketing director Claire Lewis then introduced the new kit, stating: "The Home Kit for the 2015/16 season is a tribute to the team that won the 1990/91 UEFA Cup."

To the delight of the fans, the first-team squad then appeared looking resplendent in the brand new kit.

Fredy Guarin gave his take on the new strip straight afterwards: "It’s a lovely shirt and we need to honour it with victories, with good football and with great results. It’s important to have the fans behind us – that’s vital for us."

Nerazzurri captain Andrea Ranocchia also spoke about the kit: "There’s still one game left. We’re preparing as well as possible so we can win it and then we’ll wait and see what the other teams do. We’re desperate to get back to winning ways after what has been a tough season. Being with Mancini from the kick-off next season will be a big advantage."
