LATINA – There was a resounding victory for the Allievi Nazionali Lega Pro this afternoon as they kicked off the 8th Lazio Cup in style by beating Banatul Timisoara by four goals to one.
Francesco Russo opened the scoring for Gianmario Corti’s side in the 17th minute, before Marco Capone added a second ten minutes later. Mattia Poletto made it three on 71 minutes, whilst Matteo Rizzi put the result to bed in the 73rd minute.
The Allievi Nazionali Lega Pro, who have won the last two editions of the tournament, will play Sermoneta and Latina tomorrow and Thursday as they look to secure a semi-final berth.
