MILAN - Javier Zanetti was at Humanitas University in Rozzano today for a 'Universiday' debate on university education, sport and medicine, joined by Paolo Maldini, professor Alberto Mantovani of Humanitas University and Humanitas orthopaedist and FC Internazionale head of medical Piero Volpi.
"I think commitment and tenacity are key to a person's professional development, in sport as in daily life and work. My own work ethic paid off as I think did the upbringing I received from my family," the Nerazzurri vice president told journalists at the event.
He went on to discuss football matters: "I'm confident about Inter's future. I'm at the start of a new adventure as vice president and things will take time. There's a new ownership in place and what we need now are ideas, but I'm very confident. We're moving forward together with our coach. We may have had the odd difficulty but Inter and AC Milan both deserve to come through this difficult spell and I'm sure they will."
On Andrea Ranocchia: "Everyone has their own personality and abilities. Let's give him a bit of time. Andrea is the Inter captain now, he needs to keep growing but he's a wonderful human being and I hope he will remain club captain for many years."
