VECCHI: "FIRST PLACE GOOD BUT WE WANT THE TITLE"

The Nerazzurri Primavera boss insists nothing has been won yet: "We're not celebrating because what matters is being champions at the end of the season"

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI – It was another day to remember in what has already been a highly memorable campaign for Stefano Vecchi and the Nerazzurri Primavera team. This afternoon's draw with Cesena means they are mathematically certain of finishing the regular season as Group B winners with two games to spare.

It's not an achievement that satisifies the U19 coach though, and he made by qualms about stating the real target for his side. "We're happy of course but we're not celebrating because we want to be champions at the end of the season," he told Inter Channel after today's match.

"First place means we won't be paired with any of the other top seeds but regardess of how the draw goes we'll have nothing but tough ties to negotiate."

The coach then commented on this afternoon's 0-0 draw at the Stadio Breda: "The biggest plus was that we gave some game time to players who haven't played so much.

"We tried out a new formation in the first half and the lads struggled a little, but then we had a clutch of chances after the break. Still, we played well because don't forget that Cesena are third in the league. We just needed a bit more quality in and around the box because we messed up too many passes and shots."
