GNOUKOURI: "GRATEFUL TO COACH AND TEAM-MATES"

The Ivorian midfielder, 18, talks about how he's adjusting to first-team football having been thrust into the starting line-up in the last two games

MILAN – It's been quite a week for Assane Demoya Gnoukouri. After impressing against the Rossoneri in his full debut last Sunday, the Primavera midfielder found himself back in the starting line-up against Roma. And after playing his part in Inter's win against Roma, he spoke about how he's adapting to life in the fast line.

The 18-year-old said: "They were two good matches. I'm generally quite laidback by nature so I didn't feel too nervous but my team-mates have been offering me lots of support and encouragement. From Palacio to Juan Jesus, everyone's being really helpful.

"I want to thank the gaffer too. I'm trying to make the most of every opportunity he gives me. We needed to stay really focused tonight because Roma have lots of pace and quality in their side.

"Personally I know I have lots of work to do but playing in San Siro in front of these fans is amazing."
