JUAN JESUS: "TOP DISPLAY. MORE OF THE SAME"

Brazilian gives his take after Inter v Roma: "We have to pull out all the stops in the upcoming games. We're Inter and we must keep believing until the end"

MILAN – Inter's new-found mentality is one of the key reasons behind Inter's recent improved showings, says Juan Jesus.

The 23-year-old was speaking to journalists after the Nerazzurri secured a fine victory over Roma. "We put in a top display," he said. "We did what the gaffer wanted us to do, and now we need to keep doing it. We must pull out all the stops in the upcoming games and try to take points off all the teams we play."

He then commented on the team's performance: "We got the right result tonight. It was just a mental problem and now we must go on with this same mentality. Roma have some tricky customers up front and I tried to do my bit for the team. Mancini told us we played with the right spirit. People like Vidic, Hernanes, Gnoukouri and Kovacic all put in incredible shifts for the team."

Juan Jesus' deployment at left-back has also coincided with Inter's recent upturn in fortunes. He stated: "I feel I'm getting better with every game and every training session. I get forward sometimes and I can help the team more. It's nice to be able to do that. I'm really chuffed with the way I've been playing. Vidic is a reassuring presence at the back and that makes it easier for me to push up."

What about Inter's push for a European place? "There are enough points left to do it. We're Inter and we must keep believing until the end."
