ICARDI: "I WANT TO STAY HERE, WITH THESE FANS IN THIS STADIUM"

The striker has his say after grabbing the winner against Roma: "We used up every ounce of energy out there, we're doing what the gaffer wants"

MILAN – That's 17 league goals for the season now, 22 in all competitions. Mauro Icardi left his mark again this evening, handing Inter the three points with a late winner against Roma.

After the final whistle the centre forward told journalists that Inter have now clicked into gear: "It's an important stage of the season. We're finally managing to reproduce what the gaffer has been asking us to do since he arrived.

"We're happy tonight. We used up every ounce of energy out there, battling for every ball. We did that in the derby too but didn't get the result we wanted.

"Win all our remaining games? That's what we all want. It would be great."

Finally, the striker made it very clear where he sees his and Inter's future: "The club will do everything possible to bring in players who can help us make the step up and challenge for the top spots.

"My contract renewal? You need to speak to Ausilio but I want to be here next year too, with these fans in this stadium."
