SESTO SAN GIOVANNI – A solitary strike from Michele Rocca in the 81st minute enabled Inter Primavera to get the better of Pescara and stretch their unbeaten run to 17 games.
It was a solid showing by Stefano Vecchi's side, who had to make do without a raft of players with Dimarco, Palazzi, Gnoukouri, Puscas and Bonazzoli included in the first-team squad for tonight's match against Roma, Baldini and Crosato injured and Steffè suspended.
The Nerazzurri, who bossed the opening period without being able to make the breakthrough, found themselses reduced to ten men shortly before the hour mark. Camara went down under contact with Venuti and the referee produced a yellow card for diving – his second of the match.
Numerical parity was then restored in the 71st minute when Monni collected a second booking of his own for bringing down Correia.
With nine minutes left on the clock the 18-year-old Guinea Bissau-born forward played in Rocca, who took advantage of a fortunate deflection inside the box to lift a delightful finish over Kastrati for the match-winner.
Next Saturday Inter will have the chance to secure first place when Cesena visit the Stadio Breda at 15:00.
