MILAN - Erick Thohir has once again emphasised the importance of the Nerazzurri fans, describing them as the club's 'heart' in an interview published in today's edition of Japanese newspaper The Yomiuri Shimbun.
The president explained that Inter is the sum of many parts: "The fans are our heart, the players our muscles and the management team our brain. We all work together for the good of Inter.
"Our fans and their expectations deserve respect, and of course their expectations are the same as our expectations. We're striving to meet them."
Local hero Yuto Nagatomo was of course brought up. The Nerazzurri president said that he is "a symbol of Inter in Japan, both on and off the field."
President Thohir also spoke about Massimo Moratti: "He made Inter great. He's a symbolic figure. I'm trying to do my part to help take this club back to the top."
