MILAN - Sandro Mazzola, a forward in La Grande Inter team and one of the greatest Nerazzurri players of all time, spoke to Inter Channel live on Radio Inter this afternoon.
As the team is not going through the most positive of spells at the moment, it might do the fans some good to hear a message of support from a Nerazzurri legend such as yourself.
"Inter have always been a team with top players and players who are willing to fight for the cause. That's what we need now and that's what the club is working to achieve."
You've met president Erick Thohir. Could you maybe tell us what he said to you? Did he give you a clear message about what lies ahead?
"What I understood is that he's prepared to invest. He's got a solid project - investing but investing well. He's certainly not one to back away."
Do you think it should all start with Roberto Mancini?
"Mancini was the marquee signing. He's an exceptional coach and I know him personally too. I see him as a mainstay. Now he needs to be listened to and helped. You might not be able to do everything in a year but you have to go along with him."
Where do you think Mancini can take Inter in future?
"We shouldn't place any limits on what might happen in the future. But I think in any case we can be in the top four."
