MILAN – Nerazzurri captain Andrea Ranocchia chatted to the press to give his take on Inter’s 1-2 defeat to Wolfsburg in the Europa League tonight: "We’re disappointed because we believed. We prepared differently from usual and we knew they’d try to play on the counter.
"We had lots of chances but sadly we couldn’t take them, whilst they did well to make the most of theirs. If we’d scored before them it would’ve been different.
"The fans were exceptional tonight – I had shivers up my spine when I walked out onto the pitch. That makes it an even bigger shame. We wanted to give them something to celebrate but instead we’re here discussing a defeat.
"We now need to focus all our efforts on the league. We need to pick up points to move us up the table," declared Ranocchia.
