MILAN – Roberto Mancini made no attempts to hide his disappointment after Inter exited the Europa League with a 1-2 defeat at the hands of Wolfsburg: "We’re disappointed just like the fans and we deserved the boos at the final whistle. We saw enough of the ball and created enough chances to score, but unfortunately we gave away chances too.
"It was a tough match from the off because we needed two goals without reply. Our problem is that we struggle to go a match without conceding. We commit a lot of mistakes and end up making a rod for our own backs, though in the end I think Wolfsburg are a better team than us.
"Maybe I’ve not been able to teach the players 100% of what I want to show them, but they’re putting in a lot of hard work. These are the moments that help you to grow. We’re disappointed but we must look forward," declared Mancini.
