WOLFSBURG V INTER STAT ATTACK

Nerazzurri looking to extend unbeaten runs in Europe (11) and away (5) in first-ever meeting with the Wolves. Football Data provides the lowdown ahead of kick-off

Inter unbeaten in 11 European outings
The Nerazzurri haven't been on the losing side in a European encounter since losing 3-0 to Tottenham in the Europa League almost two years ago to the day, on 7 March 2013. The return leg of that last-16 tie and the 10 matches played in this current campaign have yielded seven wins and four draws.

Nerazzurri looking to extend unbeaten away run to five
Inter have not lost in their last four away trips, winning two, drawing two and scoring 11. Their last defeat outside of Milan came against Napoli in the Coppa Italia on 4 February. If Mancini's men were to avoid defeat in the Germans' den tonight, it would be their first five-match unbeaten streak away from home since February-April 2014, when they put together four victories and two draws in Serie A. That cup reverse at Napoli remains Inter's only defeat in nine away games (W3, D5).

Wolfsburg's 285-minute European shutout
Dieter Hecking's side have gone more than three games (285 minutes) without conceding in European competition. Belgium winger Kevin Mirallas was the last man to breach the Wolfsburg rearguard when Everton left Germany with a 0-2 victory on 27 November in the Europa League group stage. Since Mirallas' 75th-minute strike in that match, Wolsfburg have successfully shut out Lille (0-3 away in the groups) and Sporting Lisbon twice (2-0 home, 0-0 away in the last 32).

First time all round
This evening's meeting is both the first time that opposite numbers Dieter Hecking and Roberto Mancini have faced off in a competitive fixture and the first ever match-up between Wolfsburg and Inter.

Wolfsburg yet to beat Italians
The Wolves will be hoping to claim their first Italian scalp today. In three previous attempts they have never beaten a team from Italy, drawing once and losing twice while conceding five goals in the process.

Nerazzurri on top with Germans
Inter have a long history of European tussles with German opposition, playing a total of 44 competitive matches before tonight's match at Wolkswagen Arena. Their record reads W21, D8 L15, with one of those victories leading to Champions League triumph in 2010. Inter's record on German soil is W6, D7, L8.
