BONAZZOLI, ITALY'S TOP U21 PLAYER

Inter striker voted Best Italian Under-21 at 2014 TMW Awards. "Mancini's the best coach you could have as a youngster"

MILAN - Federico Bonazzoli has spoken of his determination to make it at the top level of the game and just how important a figure Roberto Mancini is after being named Italy's best U21 player at the 2014 TMW awards.

The Nerazzurri youngster, 17, was hosted on Sportitalia's 'Calcio e Mercato' show to receive his prize after topping the votes in the Best Italian Under-21 category of the awards, which this year saw Inter compete a double sweep as Piero Ausilio took the Best Sporting Director gong.

Speaking on the programme, he admitted: "This is my first individual award so it's obviously really nice."

He was asked if he feels the award is confirmation that he's now hit the big time. He replied: "Not at all. It takes a lot of work to make it to the top and you can be knocked right back down again in an instant. You have to keep grafting if you want to stay up there."

Quizzed about Nerazzurri boss Roberto Mancini, the Viareggio Cup top scorer explained: "He's the best coach you could have as a youngster. He teaches you so much and helps you to grow both as a footballer and as an individual."
