MILAN - Eight seasons for the Viola, nine with the Nerazzurri. No one knows more about Inter v Fiorentina than Francesco Toldo: "It's one of the biggest games in Italian football," he explained to BT Sport. "This match is particularly special to me because I spent my career as a professional in both Florence and Milan.
"Fiorentina signed me from Ravenna in 1993 and gave me my first chance in the big time, before I earned my spot in the national team. We won the Coppa Italia twice and the Super Cup, trophies we worked really hard for and which were almost unexpected given the strength of other teams at that time. In 2001 I was sold to Barcelona but Inter nipped in ahead of the Spaniards at the 11th hour and I opted to stay in Italy.
"Inter meant a great deal to me. They're an exemplary football club, as shown from their relationship with supporters and ex-players. I like Montella. He's a coach with a big future but it's the players who make the difference and Fiorentina have a great side. I would however like to see Inter make sides fear them when they play at home. Mancini is a very tactical coach, he teaches you to play football. I hope he can take Inter back to where the club belongs, because they always need to be at the top."
