MILAN – Hernanes gave Mediaset Premium his take on a great night for Inter which saw them qualify for the last 16 of the Europa League at the expense of Celtic: "I hadn’t played for a while and it was great to be involved in such an important match.
"I tried to show I was ready, even if it’s hard to get up to match speed just by training. I’ve worked hard to be able to make the most of this chance. I think we’re on the right track to becoming an important team. We performed poorly in the first part of the season and now we need to give everything we have to make up for that.
"It’ll be tough to make the final – playing in Europe is never easy and it was tough to score tonight even though we had an extra man. We’ll kick on and see what happens… I think the turning point came after the Napoli match. We didn’t deserve to lose and that triggered something inside us. Sooner or later things had to change, for me and for the team," explained Hernanes.
