MILAN – One of the brightest sparks in the Nerazzurri’s recent spell of good form, Fredy Guarin appeared alongside his manager to talk to the press ahead of tomorrow’s big match against Celtic.
"Things are going well for me at the moment, the team is getting the best out of me. I do everything I can to grow as a player and am always thinking about how I can improve. Hard work is the key to everything and this spell has confirmed that for me. If I continue in the same vein, I’m sure I’ll keep improving," declared Guarin.
The Nerazzurri schemer was then asked about the position he’s been played in recently: "I’m able to play my best football in that position. Thanks to the support of my team-mates, I can get even better."
The Colombian conceded that he’s had some ups and downs over recent years: "Over the last three years, there have been lots of things that have prevented me from playing to the best of my ability. But they’re in the past. I don’t want to think about them – I prefer to concentrate on my form and on the team’s form. I’m focused on the challenges that await us as we go about building our future."
Guarin also spoke about the importance of feeling the confidence of the club: "Obviously, having the faith of the coaching staff has been very important, for me and for my team-mates. You know that if you make a mistake, they’ll help you to improve. I’m delighted that I stayed at Inter, it wasn’t an easy decision but in the end things have turned out well. Would I hold onto Icardi? Of course!"
