MILAN – Inter vice president Javier Zanetti sat down for a tell-all interview with BeIN Sports 1’s Le club du Dimanche to speak all things Nerazzurri this evening.
"I remember that we were on the Terrazza Martini and it was pouring with rain. Giacinto Facchetti was there – an Inter legend – as well as Sebastian Rambert, who was the leading scorer in the Argentine league. He was the big star of course, then everyone knows the career I went on to have at the club," recalls Zanetti of his first day at Inter.
"The best moment of my career was undoubtedly the Champions League final against Bayern. It was a dream night in a wonderful stadium and I had the privilege of captaining the side. On top of everything, it was Inter’s first final in forty years. I’ll never forget the fans’ joy and the celebrations the day after," smiled the Argentine.
There was also a word on the current Nerazzurri crop’s convincing 1-4 win at Atalanta this afternoon: "It was a vital win today especially after we got the three points at Palermo. Slowly but surely, we’re getting closer to the European places and that’s our goal. We’re trying to find some consistency.
"Thohir’s project, his ideas… they’re fascinating. And the Moratti family is right there beside him. We’re all working together to build something great at Inter. We’re doing all we can to ensure Inter triumph in Europe once again," said Zanetti.
