MILAN – It was another game wearing the captain's armband at the Meazza and another win for Marco Andreolli, who shared his thoughts on the 2-0 success over Sampdoria after the match.
The 28-year-old said: "The most important thing is we're through to the next round. We regard the Coppa Italia very highly: it's an important objective for us."
Speaking to Inter Channel, he added: "The sending-off did make it a bit easier for us, but we were determined to go through and I think we showed that right from the off. We just needed to get the first goal.
"We tried to do the things the gaffer had told us during the week but we can play better still. Sampdoria sat even more tightly after finding themselves a man down but we bided our time well.
"Now we must push on with what we're doing without easing up. This is a positive spell for us and winning games always helps."
