INTER V GENOA STAT ATTACK

Get into the mood for today's lunchtime showdown at the Meazza with this collection of facts and figures provided by our friends at Football Data

One blank in 13 home games for Inter
Only once in their last 13 matches at the Meazza have the Nerazzurri failed to score – a goalless draw with Saint Etienne in the Europa League on 23 October. They have racked up 32 goals in the other 12 games in that same period.

Icardi and Matri the men to watch
Two of Serie A's most decisive players could square off in San Siro today. Mauro Icardi and Alessandro Matri are joint second in the list of players whose goals have contributed the most points to their team's cause in Serie A 2014/15: their efforts have brought in 11 points each for Inter and Genoa respectively, the same number as Gabbiadini and Callejon. Only Tevez has weighed in with more (13).

Goals on the bench
Inter and Genoa – together with the two Verona sides – have scored the most goals (four) through substitutes in Serie A this year. Guarin (two), Hernanes and Osvaldo have netted for the Nerazzurri after entering the fray mid-game, while Antonini, Kucka, Matri and Pinilla have done likewise for the Rossoblu.

Genoa winless in Milan in 21 years
Today's visitors have not claimed all three points away at Inter since 26 March 1994, a 3-1 triumph in Serie A. Schillaci gave the Nerazzurri an early lead that day, before Ruotolo (18, 90) and Skuhravy turned the tables. Genoa have managed just three draws and eight defeats in their 11 visits to the San Siro since then.

Genoa on longest run without a win all season
Gian Piero Gasperini's men have picked up a single point in their last three league outings (one draw, two defeats). Their last success came on 7 December: 1-0 over AC Milan at the Stadio Ferraris. Three games is the longest the Rossoblu have gone without a win this term.

Birthday boy Bertolacci
Genoa midfielder Andrea Bertolacci celebrates his 24th birthday today: he was born in Rome on 11 January 1991.

Mancini unbeaten against Gasperini
Roberto Mancini's Inter took four points off Gian Piero Gasperini's Genoa in the only two previous meetings between these two coaches. Both came in the Serie A 2007/08 season.

Mancini vs Genoa same as Mancini vs Gasperini
Roberto Mancini's record against Genoa is exactly the same as his record against Gasperini: just those two Serie A encounters in 2007/08, a win and a draw.

Gasperini's heaviest defeat at hands of Inter
Gian Piero Gasperini's record as a coach in competitive matches against the Nerazzurri reads W1, D3, L6. The Genoa boss, who spent a brief spell in charge of Inter between July and September 2011, suffered his worst-ever defeat against the Nerazzurri: a 5-0 league drubbing at the Marassi on 17 October 2009.
